For almost 15 years, Rio Rhythmics have been supporting ASCEP, a creche for children with mental and physical disabilities in Goiânia; Brazil. In July 2015, our directors Jada and Tarcisio visited the creche and were thrilled to see the development in the centre.
Jada reported that “The Government is behind in payments to ASCEP; for the little they help, by almost a year, and so as usual ASCEP relies entirely on private donations. There are so many of the same “kids” (no longer really kids) there from the first time I went about 10 years ago – so it’s great to see the care they are given and that they are doing as well as they can. It was an eye opening experience for our two boys!
“The staff are so amazing with the kids. ASCEP have recently built a small clinic with donated funds so that they can treat external patients and generate their own income. There were many new additions, with more play areas and fresh paint. Every time we visit there is improvement, which is so heartwarming”.
